Iran's Revolutionary Guards publication: Americans will be sitting ducks all over the world |

In its issue number 288, IRGC's Sobh-e Sadegh weekly, published under the supervision of the Political Office of the Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, expressed the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) frustration over Arbil arrest of five of its top commanders posed as diplomats by the U.S. forces in Iraq.
The weekly quoted Brig. Gen. Reza Zaker as saying, “I think the U.S. [authorities] are psychologically mature enough to realize the degree in which their forces are scattered in Afghanistan and Iraq. Not to mention those U.S. citizens in East Asia, Pakistan, India, Africa, Latin America, and Europe just to name a few locations where they can be reached when the need arises. Getting to those targets and locating them is much easier than buying a few ship-loads of cheap Chinese made goods.”
“When American undercover agents are simply trapped by some poorly trained Mahdi Army fighters in Iraq or a high ranking Mossad officer goes missing in Paris and a British gunboat drops off the radar screens in Arvand-Rood (Shatt El Arab waterway) for unknown reasons, it sends a clear message to those who are plotting against us,” said Brig. Gen. Zaker in a threatening voice directed at the U.S.
He went on to point out the mullahs’ military might and said, “Let us suppose that a country [referring implicitly to Iran] has no moral influence in other neighboring countries, does not enjoy the expertise of its highly professional field officers, and does not ask for assistance form masses in Islamic world, always there will be many undiscovered possibilities for it to explore. If one is prepared to spend some loose change, it would merely be a matter of hours before one would witness scores of blond- haired and blue-eyed officers who fall victim just like a rabbit in the claws of a hungry eagle.”
The comments by the high ranking IRGC general have familiar tone which belongs to early 1980s when Khomeini was alive and busy advertising his brand new terrorist tactics around the Islamic world. Not long ago one of his closest confidants, Mohsen Rafiqdoost in a rare interview admitted, “Make no mistakes, in 1983, the material and ideology for blowing up the U.S. Marine Barracks in Beirut came from Iran.”
