Student uprisings in Iranian universities is an advent of people’s rage against the mullahs in Iran PDF Print E-mail

NCRI - President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi saluted the protesting students at Tehran’s Polytechnic (Amirkabir) University. She said that the heroic student demonstrations in past few weeks are an advent of people’s rage against the religious fascism ruling Iran. They seek a major change in the direction of establishing democracy in our country.

Mrs. Rajavi described the increasing suppression of students in the Iranian schools employing Iranian Revolutionary Guard Coups (IRGC) and its subordinate the paramilitary Bassij Force, plain-clothes agents belonging to State Security Forces (SSF) and members of other suppressive forces as desperate attempts by a regime engulfed in crisis which is on the verge of collapse.

She called on all international student unions and associations to support the Iranian students and condemn the clerical regime in Iran. In past two weeks, strikes and demonstrations by Polytechnic University students continued despite a brutal crackdown by SSF.

On Monday, a plot by the SSF in cooperation with paramilitary 'Bassij students' to sabotage a student’s election was defeated in its outset. Subsequently, SSF agents tried to steal the ballot boxes. However, they were fended off by the students who had anticipated the move.

To complete their mission, the SSF agents attacked the students’ facilities such as Student’s Council Building, Scientific Mine Association, Metallurgy Association, Graduate Students' Lounge, and Secretariat of Mechanical Engineering Conference.  They did not stop and advanced to the female dormitories of mine and metallurgy departments. Some students were arrested in the course of the raids.
