Students chant “death to dictator” against Ahmadinejad PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 11 December 2006
NCRI - This morning, students in Tehran’s Polytechnic University (Amir-Kabir University) staged an angry demonstration against Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, disrupting his speech with chants of “death to dictator.”

The state-run news agency Fars reported from Tehran, “The students created tension by chanting brash slogans.” A number of students chanted, “Death to dictator,” as they attacked Ahmadinejad’s podium.

According to this report, “The group effort by a number of students to attack the podium and disrupt the event is still continuing.”

Ahmadinejad’s presence in Amir-Kabir University was met with a firm reaction by angry students. Students in Amir-Kabir had been under the most brutal suppression by agents of the regime and constantly faced being “marked” by the Disciplinary Committee. In recent days, they have demonstrated repeatedly on the occasion of Iran’s Students Day (December 7) as well as in protest to the brutal killing of a fellow student in Sabzevar at the hands of Ahmadinejad’s agents.

The Iranian Resistance condemns the regime’s inhumane and anti-cultural actions against Iranian students and calls on all international student unions and associations to support the uprising students in Tehran and condemn the suppressive measures by the religious fascism against the students.
