NCRI Foreign Affairs Committee Chair Mr. Mohammad Mohaddessin, following the operation of the second series of nuclear “centrifuge cascades” by the mullahs’ regime, strongly condemned any delay in adopting a firm policy against the Iranian regime. Referring to those parties which create obstacles in the path to comprehensive sanctions against the regime for their economic benefits, Mr. Mohaddessin reiterated that if the regime obtained nuclear bomb the least they stand to lose would be economic benefits. |

He said, “We have advised the Europeans that the Americans are far away, but you are the neighbors of the nations in this region. We inform you that the nations are like an ocean that is welling up, and if a storm begins, the dimensions will not stay limited to Palestine, and you may get hurt.” |

NCRI - On Tuesday, the foreign ministers of the European Union admitted that EU nuclear talks with the Iranian regime had run into a dead-end and it had “no choice” but to return the matter to the UN Security Council. EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana announced that for three months the EU tried in vain to convince Iranian regime to suspend its uranium enrichment activities. Following an hour-long telephone conversation with Ali Larijani, the secretary general of the regime’s Supreme National Security Council, Solana told reporters, “There is nothing, nothing, nothing new. The situation has not changed.” (AFP, October 17) |

NCRI - State Security Forces Chief Brig. Gen. Esmaeil Ahmadi Moghaddam announced, "In the near future, for every two districts in Tehran there will be one SSF Security Complex which will be comprised of police precincts, head precincts and security and intelligence sites," the state-run news agency Mehr reported on October 7. He made the announcement at the opening ceremony of the new headquarters of the SSF Intelligence Department. |

Iran regime refuses to pay workers their overdue salaries |

NCRI - Some 200,000 Iranian workers have not received their salaries for months, the state-run news agency IRNA reported on October 11. "Close to 200,000 workers from 500 factories, such as Poushineh-Baf, Naz-Nakh, and Semin-No, have not received their salaries for months and we have witnessed this issue brought up in Majlis frequently. … Some of these workers have not been paid for up to 50 months," said Alireza Mahjoub, a deputy of the regime's Majlis. |

66 prisoners hanged and 178 others sentenced to death in Iran during summer |

NCRI - During the three months of summer, 66 prisoners were hanged and 178 others sentenced to death by the mullahs' judiciary, according to reports in the government-run media. Some 45 prisoners were hanged in public and 21 others inside prison. Twenty two of the prisoners were under 25 years of age. |

Paris Court of Appeals revokes the last restrictions in the June 17, 2003 dossier |

NCRI - On Friday, the Paris Court of Appeals in separate rulings lifted judicial restrictions on the seven remaining individuals arrested in connection with the June 17, 2003 dossier. The ruling came despite the fact that the investigative magistrate was opposed to the restrictions being revoked on baseless grounds. As such, the restrictions imposed on all the individuals involved in the June 17 dossier have now been lifted. The restrictions imposed on Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, and 16 other members and supporters of the Iranian Resistance were lifted by the Court of Appeals on 16 June, 2006. |

Protest rallies on the anniversary of International Teachers Day |

NCRI - From 9 a.m. on Thursday, teachers gathered opposite the Ministry of Education's headquarters in Tehran. The number of participants exceeded 1,500 and increased as more teachers joined the demonstrators, at the end topping 3,500. Units of the State Security Forces (SSF) closed the entrances to the main building, preventing more people from joining the demonstrating teachers, and stopped the President of the Teachers Association from addressing the crowd. |
