Lord Fraser : Absolutely no point in engaging Tehran PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 29 November 2005
NCRI, Nov. 29 - The Rt. Hon. The Lord Fraser of Carmyllie, QC, former Minister of State at the Department of Trade and Industry, who previously supported engagement with the clerical regime told the Symposium of Parliamentarians & Jurists in London on November 29: “I think there is absolutely no point whatsoever in trying to constructively engage with this regime or in any sense to appease it. I have changed my mind, quite a difficult confession for a politician to make. But nevertheless I have and what I want to do is to persuade others, as you do to change their minds as well.”

Night of solidarity with Iranian resistance in France PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 24 November 2005
BOI, Nov. 24 - French human rights associations held a night in solidarity with the Iranian resistance in central France Thursday night. Speakers at the event included two former Iranian political prisoners who endured brutal torture during the early 1980s at the height of suppression under the clerical regime’s rule. The two women recounted the nightmare of captivity in the infamous Evin and Ghezel Hessar prisons in Iran. Another woman speaker highlighted the misogyny that is inherent in the clerical regime’s rule and how the Iranian resistance has sought to challenge the mullahs’ ideology by successfully paving the way for women to leadership positions within the Iranian resistance movement. Mr. Afshin Alavi from the National Council of Resistance of Iran spoke about the failure of appeasing the mullahs and emphasized that the only solution to lasting peace and democracy in Iran was to support the Iranian people’s resistance movement for change.
